Continuing Education for Iridologists

Continuing Education Courses and Job Opportunities in Iridology

Iridologists are alternative and holistic healing professionals that use they eye as a map to diagnose problems with the patient’s body and mind.

What is Iridology?

The iris of the eye is studied in iridology, and it is as a map in diagnosing the problem areas of a person’s body. A particular area of the iris is thought to represent each organ of the body, and any affliction can be determined by looking into a patient’s eye. It is also supposed to show insights into the patient’s mental health issues.

Typical Iridology Courses

Natural and holistic medical training centers often offer courses in iridology. Some are also basic sciences that can be completed at any college, university, or community college campus. Some courses that a student may be required to complete include:

  • Transformational Iridology
  • Careers in Iridology
  • Eye Anatomy and Physiology
  • Iridology Theory and Practice

The study of iridology can diagnose health concerns, so medical practitioners in a traditional setting and those in alternative settings will sometimes call on iridologists to determine diagnoses. This can help a medical doctor to determine what needs to be completed to make the patient stronger and determine where weaknesses exist. The focus is for a patient to get back to optimal health. Alternative medical treatments are becoming even more popular and are meshing with mainstream medicine, so the demand for iridologists and the tools they provide to patients are becoming increasingly popular.

The United States regulating bodies to not regulate iridology, but internationally and in Europe, there are regulations. The major professional organization for iridologists is the International Iridology Practitioners Association.
