Earn a High School Diploma in Utah

The state of Utah is a mountainous region of the U.S. that is known for its educational system as well as its beautiful landscapes. Additional information about graduation requirements and the different options that students have to complete their degree are included below.

High School Graduation Requirements in Utah

Students that attend a traditional high school in the state of Utah need to complete the following requirements in order to earn their high school diploma:

  • Language Arts/English (3 credits)
  • Science (2 credits)
  • Mathematics (2 credits)
  • Social Studies (2.5 credits)
  • Fine Arts (1.5 credits)
  • Physical/Health Education (2 credits)
  • Applied Technology (1 credit)
  • Computer Technology and Finance at the discretion of the school district

Students also have the option of earning their high school diploma in Utah by attending the Electronic High School (EHS). This program is able to provide students the opportunity to complete their degree if they have missed the chance to do so with their high school class. Students must be Utah residents, but courses can be completed from anywhere over the world. Additional information about this program can be found on the State of Utah’s Office of Education website.
